Dot is a place where journalists can get access to internet during electricity and mobile coverage blackouts.

We currently open up the first Dot which is located in Kyiv. We partnered with The Ukrainians who kindly shared their office with us.
Powered by Starlink (already installed) and big powerstations (on route to Kyiv) - this Dot will offer up to 72 hours of internet access.

If you want to give access to internet to more journalists - please reach out to us. We take no profit for making it happen. Partner with locals and help them get necessary equipment and install it. One powerstation costs 1500-2000 EUR (we need 2-3 per Dot). Starlink unit - 600 USD.
FAQs
How do you get internet access?
There is a Starlink mounted on the roof. We will also add different ways of getting internet as we go.
Is this free?
If you are a journalist - then yes. But you can always bring some cookies for The Ukrainians team.
Are there any usage limitations?
We don’t know. For now - no. Depending on the demand we may think about introducing some, but for now we want to see what are the needs.
Do you plan to open Dots in different cities?
If situation will require it and there will be a need - yes. Please drop us an email if you have ideas or suggestions.
Why do I have to register?
Because we want to track the demand, be in touch with you and let The Ukrainians team know who may be coming. You will also get access to Telegram group.
Is there any code of conduct?
Yes - please be respectful of our hosts, of other users and just think of the extraordinary situation this is designed for.
