Who are Karolina Baca-Pogorzelska and Michał Potocki?

Karolina Baca-Pogorzelska, born in 1983 in Jaworzno. A graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Warsaw (2007), a journalist and author of books, a 2nd-degree mining engineer. She is one of the first two women who came underground the deepest in Poland (1290 m below ground). Since 2017, she has been investigating, together with Michał Potocki, the import of anthracite from occupied Donbas to Poland and other countries. For this series, they were nominated for the 2018 Mediators Award and won the Grand Press 2018 in the category of specialistic journalism. They also won the Dariusz Fikus prize in (2019), and were honoured for the anthracite cycle in the SDP competition. Their joint book about anthracite from Donbas will be published by Czarne publishing house.
